1. Summary

TauBar is a taskbar application for macOS. It reads information about your running applications and windows so it can display and switch between them. That information is used on your Mac and is not transmitted to us. TauBar contains no analytics or telemetry. The only data that leaves your Mac relates to purchasing a licence, validating that licence, checking for updates, and any feedback you choose to submit.

2. Information processed on your Mac

To do its job, TauBar reads and displays the following locally. None of it is sent to TauLeap:

• Running applications and windows. Application names, icons and window titles of the apps you have open, so they can be listed and switched. For some apps this includes additional detail, such as the Chrome profile in use or unread badge counts in Mail and Slack.
• Calendar events. If you grant calendar access, upcoming events are read to display them in TauBar.
• Window previews. If you grant Screen Recording permission and enable previews, TauBar captures window thumbnails. These are rendered on screen and are not stored long-term or transmitted.
• Your settings. Preferences, pinned applications and layout are stored in the application's own settings on your Mac.

TauBar requests these macOS permissions only for the features above: Accessibility, Screen Recording, Calendar, and Automation for specific applications (such as Finder, Chrome and loginwindow). You can review or revoke each one in System Settings › Privacy & Security at any time; the related features simply stop working.

3. Information transmitted from TauBar

• Purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. You provide your email address and payment details directly to Stripe. We receive your email address and the record of the purchase, so that we can issue and support your licence. We never see or store full payment card numbers. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
• Licence activation and validation. When you activate or validate a licence, TauBar sends your licence key and a device identifier to our licence server at api.taubar.app. The device identifier is a random value generated on first use and stored in your macOS Keychain; it is not derived from your hardware serial number and does not identify you personally. This is used solely to enforce the per-licence device limit.
• Update checks. TauBar checks for new versions using Sparkle, which requests taubar.app/appcast.xml and downloads updates from GitHub Releases. As with any network request, the servers involved may log your IP address and application version.
• Feedback board. Feature requests and votes are hosted on a third-party feedback service (Canny) at feedback.taubar.app. Anything you post there, including any name or email you supply, is handled under that provider's privacy policy.

TauBar contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier and no usage tracking.

4. Why we process this data

The controller of the personal data described in this policy is TauLeap. We process the limited data above to deliver the software you purchased, to issue and verify licences and prevent licence abuse, to provide updates, and to respond to support enquiries. We do not use it for profiling or advertising.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases: performance of a contract with you (purchases, licences and updates); compliance with a legal obligation (retaining purchase records for accounting and tax); and, for support emails, taking steps at your request or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

5. Retention

Purchase records and licence records are retained for as long as your licence is active and afterwards as required for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Support emails are retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up.

6. Third parties

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not rent it. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. The processors involved in TauBar are Stripe (payments), our licence server infrastructure, GitHub (update hosting), and Canny (feedback board). Each acts under its own privacy policy for the data it receives.

Some of these processors, and Google Fonts as described in section 7, are established outside Japan and the EEA — typically in the United States — and may process data there. That processing is part of using those services, under the safeguards those providers themselves offer.

7. This website

This page is published on GitHub Pages, operated by GitHub, Inc. GitHub may log standard request information such as IP address for security and operational purposes. Web fonts on this page are served by Google Fonts. We run no analytics, no cookies and no tracking pixels on this site.

8. Security

Licence keys and the device identifier are stored in the macOS Keychain. Communication with our licence server and with Stripe uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Window titles, calendar contents and window previews never leave your Mac.

9. Children

TauBar is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Your rights

You may ask us what purchase or licence data we hold about you, request correction of it, or request deletion. Note that we may need to retain purchase records to meet accounting and tax obligations, and that deleting a licence record will deactivate the licence. Write to email.

If you are in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Use the same contact address. These rights are subject to the limits of applicable law, including the retention of purchase records described above.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how TauBar handles data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before or at the time they take effect.

1. 概要

TauBar は macOS 向けのタスクバーアプリケーションです。起動中のアプリケーションとウィンドウの情報を読み取り、表示・切り替えを行います。これらの情報は Mac 内で利用され、当社に送信されることはありません。TauBar は解析・テレメトリを一切含みません。Mac の外に出るデータは、ライセンスの購入・検証、アップデートの確認、およびお客様が任意で投稿するフィードバックに関するものに限られます。

2. Mac 内で処理される情報

TauBar は機能提供のため、次の情報をローカルで読み取り・表示します。いずれも TauLeap には送信されません。

• 起動中のアプリとウィンドウ — 一覧表示と切り替えのため、開いているアプリの名称・アイコン・ウィンドウタイトルを読み取ります。一部のアプリでは、使用中の Chrome プロファイルや Mail / Slack の未読バッジ数など、追加の情報を含みます。
• カレンダーの予定 — カレンダーへのアクセスを許可した場合、TauBar 上に表示するため今後の予定を読み取ります。
• ウィンドウプレビュー — 画面収録の権限を許可し、プレビューを有効にした場合、TauBar はウィンドウのサムネイルを取得します。これは画面上に描画されるのみで、長期保存も送信もされません。
• 設定 — 各種設定、ピン留めしたアプリ、レイアウトは、Mac 内のアプリケーション設定として保存されます。

TauBar は上記の機能のためにのみ、macOS のアクセシビリティ、画面収録、カレンダー、および特定アプリ（Finder、Chrome、loginwindow など）に対するオートメーションの権限を要求します。これらは「システム設定 › プライバシーとセキュリティ」でいつでも確認・取り消しが可能で、取り消した場合は該当機能が動作しなくなるだけです。

3. TauBar から送信される情報

• 購入 — 決済は Stripe, Inc. が処理します。メールアドレスと支払い情報は Stripe に直接提供されます。当社は、ライセンスの発行およびサポートのため、メールアドレスと購入記録を受領します。クレジットカード番号の全桁を当社が閲覧・保存することはありません。Stripe におけるデータの取り扱いは Stripe のプライバシーポリシーに従います。
• ライセンスの有効化・検証 — ライセンスの有効化または検証の際、TauBar はライセンスキーとデバイス識別子を当社のライセンスサーバー（api.taubar.app）へ送信します。デバイス識別子は初回利用時に生成されるランダムな値で、macOS のキーチェーンに保存されます。ハードウェアのシリアル番号から導出されるものではなく、お客様個人を特定するものでもありません。これはライセンスあたりの利用台数制限のためだけに使用されます。
• アップデート確認 — TauBar は Sparkle を用いて新バージョンを確認し、taubar.app/appcast.xml へリクエストを行い、GitHub Releases から更新を取得します。一般的なネットワーク通信と同様に、関係するサーバーが IP アドレスやアプリのバージョンを記録する場合があります。
• フィードバックボード — 機能要望と投票は、第三者のフィードバックサービス（Canny）上の feedback.taubar.app でホストされています。そこへ投稿した内容（お客様が入力した氏名・メールアドレスを含む）は、当該提供事業者のプライバシーポリシーに従って取り扱われます。

TauBar には解析 SDK、クラッシュレポートサービス、広告識別子、利用状況の追跡のいずれも含まれていません。

4. 利用目的

本ポリシーに記載する個人データの管理者は TauLeap です。当社は、購入いただいたソフトウェアの提供、ライセンスの発行・検証および不正利用の防止、アップデートの提供、サポートへの対応のために、上記の限られたデータを取り扱います。プロファイリングや広告目的では利用しません。

GDPR または英国 GDPR が適用される場合の根拠は、次のとおりです。お客様との契約の履行（購入、ライセンス、アップデート）、法令上の義務の遵守（会計・税務のための購入記録の保管）、およびサポートメールについては、お客様の求めに応じた対応、または問い合わせに答える正当な利益です。

5. 保存期間

購入記録およびライセンス記録は、ライセンスが有効な期間、ならびにその後も会計・税務・法令上必要とされる期間、保管します。サポートに関するメールは、当該問い合わせおよびその後のやり取りに必要な期間、保管します。

6. 第三者提供

当社は、CCPA/CPRA にいう個人情報の販売・共有を行わず、貸与もしません。クロスコンテキストの行動広告にも使いません。TauBar に関与する処理者は、Stripe（決済）、当社のライセンスサーバー基盤、GitHub（アップデート配信）、Canny（フィードバックボード）です。各社は受領したデータについて、自社のプライバシーポリシーに従って行動します。

これらの処理者の一部、および第 7 条に記載の Google Fonts は、日本および EEA の域外（主に米国）に所在し、そこでデータを取り扱うことがあります。当該取扱いは各サービスの利用に伴うものであり、各提供事業者が自ら定める保護措置に依拠します。

7. 本ウェブサイトについて

本ページは GitHub, Inc. が運営する GitHub Pages 上で公開されています。GitHub は、セキュリティおよび運用上の目的で IP アドレスなど標準的なリクエスト情報を記録する場合があります。本ページのウェブフォントは Google Fonts から配信されます。本サイトでは解析ツール、Cookie、トラッキングピクセルのいずれも使用していません。

8. セキュリティ

ライセンスキーとデバイス識別子は macOS のキーチェーンに保存されます。当社ライセンスサーバーおよび Stripe との通信は、暗号化された HTTPS 接続を使用します。ウィンドウタイトル、カレンダーの内容、ウィンドウプレビューが Mac の外に出ることはありません。

9. 子どもの利用について

TauBar は汎用の生産性ツールであり、子どもを対象としたものではありません。当社が子どもから情報を意図的に収集することはありません。

10. お客様の権利

当社が保有する購入・ライセンスに関するデータの開示、訂正、削除をご請求いただけます。ただし、会計・税務上の義務を果たすため購入記録の保管が必要となる場合があること、およびライセンス記録を削除すると当該ライセンスが無効になることをご了承ください。ご請求は email までご連絡ください。

EEA または英国に居住されている場合は、さらに、個人データへのアクセス、訂正、消去、処理の制限、異議申立て、ポータブルな形式での写しの受領、および所在地の監督機関への苦情申立ての権利があります。窓口は上記と同じです。これらの権利は、上記の購入記録の保管を含む、適用法の制限に服します。

11. 本ポリシーの変更

TauBar のデータの取り扱いを変更する場合は、本ページを更新し、上部の「Last updated」を改訂します。重要な変更については、効力発生前または発生時点で本ページに反映します。
